The Gospel of Matthew has 28 chapters, and can be broadly divided into these main parts:

2. The Teachings of the Kingdom (Chs. 5–7): The Sermon on the Mount, laying out the principles of kingdom life.

3. The Works of the King (Chs. 8–10): Miracles, healings, and the sending of the disciples.

4. The Conflict with Opposition (Chs. 11–20): Growing rejection and Jesus’ parables of the kingdom.

5. The Passion of the King (Chs. 21–27): His entry into Jerusalem, betrayal, trial, and crucifixion.
